What size are the front door and rear speakers in the astra mk4? I assume they are the same in the coupe as well...

I took the grills off and I am not totally sure what size they are, they look a little big to be 13cm.

Poor is the wrong word haha!

Nice haha, I have a CDE-123R but I can't have it until xmas haha damn family! They find it funny that I have no music. The 123R is supposed to be a hidden gem though, time will tell.

Sound deadening is a must haha, I deadened the boot in one of my old cars and my subs sounded so much better.

Haha I think that's why they are making me wait to be honest haha, I have 2400w in the boot and yes the neighbours have complained a few times haha! No head unit means no bass which means no complaints haha.

I am preparing for my head unit though :p running my sub cables tomorrow so its all ready to go. Plus I have plans for 6000w :D

I did actually look at the CDA-9855R but it didn't have USB capabilities haha, I don't own an ipod and I cant be bothered to carry CDs around in the car haha.

 thats going to be pretty epic! get some pics up of it all!

You can actually get usb on the 9855r but you have to get one of the "box of tricks" that sit behind the dash. Ive only got the iPod connection on mine, but as mentioned above I prefer the quality of CD's to the iPod.

Indeed, I will do haha. I have had the subs sitting in the boot for ages now but nothing is wired up. The 6000w setup will be a while yet, the amp I need to drive the subs is going to be rather expensive.

At the moment I have two JBL GT-4 1000w subs (250w RMS) powered by a Juice 2400w 2 channel amp, so when I say 2400w that's not quite true haha. At 500w RMS though it's been enough to shake my old Ford Focus to bits and put enough power drain on my old Volkswagen Golf to stall the car. First things first besides getting the headunit fitted and subs running with the cabling I have is to do the big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge cable.

I heard about those little adapter boxes for USB but I also heard they are slow and slugish haha. I just prefer USB for convenience really.

Still haven't got round to this haha... Ended up out all day on Sunday and it's been raining all day today

I did manage to get some metal brackets for free on Sunday though :D

So plans for tomorrow as the weather is meant to be better is to run all sub cables, re-arrange my boot setup and if I can find some spare wood I will build some extra sections and bolt the whole thing together :D

My plan is to have the subs facing outwards with the amp bolted vertically in between both subs.

Still looking for 0 gauge cable... the stuff is so expensive at the moment.
