I have what seems to be ground in dirt. Almost like the plastic is corroding and very light scratches on both my lenses. Whats the best way to remove and clean the lenses up (if it can be done) its on my new split headlights so really want to get them as clean as possible.

I originally thought it was just dirt on the inside of the lens but it's not. It's on the outside and it's corroding the plastic. I've even thought about sanding the lens down and polishing it back out again.

Depending on how badly scratched and discoloured the plastic has become there is a product you could try...Tamiya (the plastic model and radio-controlled car company) make a polishing compound in tubes in coarse, fine and finish grades for cleaning scratches from model aircraft canopies and polishing paintwork. I recently used some to take a couple of marks out of my speedo. glazing and it's very effective, also at is intended for plastic it is unlikely to cause any further damage.
Try looking on ebay..it's called Tamiya polishing compound and the price varies quite a lot, cheapest usually seems to be Japan or other eastern countries.

Def. worth a shot I reckon.

Yeah kinda worked as I just saw it. Although turns out I have a 2" square section which is gonna be irrepairable and it's too deep. I may try and sand it right back with fine wet and dry and scratch remover polish to see if that will shift them! Cheers guys!!
