Turbo Lag on my Zaffy

Hi, I've come across some turbo lag on my 1.9cdti which doesn't seem normal, started on Saturday really. Ive given the forum a good search and read up on possible damaged swirl flaps, boost pressure sensor and Egr problems.

Now today I have done a mini service on the car including oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and checked my swirl flaps and rod were working (which they are fine). I also cleaned the boost pressure sensor as I thought that might have been the issue causing the turbo lag after reading about it.

I haven't cleaned the Egr valve yet, so could this be the fault?

I haven't had the engine light on either, just alot of lag before 2000rpm and then it puts you back in your seat once turbo has kicked in! No smoke and runs fine throughout the rev range.

Any ideas apart from Egr valve?

Well, until the turbo kicks in, you're just driving a 'normally aspirated' 1.9 diesel mate!

Slightly 'strangled' by the DPF!!

Thanks for the response guys, im going to clear any fault codes (if any) with my dads scanner. But think I've got to clean the Egr valve next and see what happens. Ill take it for a good spin also see if it helps.

Just an update on my little problem I've got, took it for a good drive this week, engine light did come on so did pedal test and fault code P2079 air intake system leak detected. This I believe relates to the Egr valve so Tuesday its getting cleaned! Will update once I've cleaned it. Sluggish performance lasts for about ten mins after cold start up, so sounds like the solinoid is sticking a bit.

Hey, just a little update. I cleaned the Egr valve on Tuesday and cleared the fault code that was stored. Done about 200 miles and seems to be ok, runs smooth after first start up and no eml. So fingers crossed it will stay that way now!
