Never tried it myself but the circuit boards are very different so aligning the switches in the new case while getting the key reader close enough to talk to the immo could be interesting

 

thanks valer. that's what I wasn't sure about I didn't realise the circuit board's were so different in shape and size. both keys work ok. the flip key has a new case and blade as the one supplied with the car had a snapped blade so had the blank one cut and swapped the circuit board over and fitted a new battery. would have been good to have converted the other one but looks unlikely unless there is a different fob that accepts the different board for the flip conversion.
