ECN 38008 or Starter Motor

Hi,

I was hoping that guys could help me with a problem with my Vauxhall Astra - 05 REG, 1.7 Diesel.

I had started noticing that the car was revving higher than normal and then last week on Monday i got the sign on the dashboard of car with a spanner.

I did the code check and it came up with ECN 38008; i was due to get it checked on Saturday but now the car wont start but the battery is fine.

My question is that, will the car not starting be related to ECN 38008 or the starter motor?

P0380 is a general glow plug related code( pointing towards the relay or actual plugs) so there's every possibility of that being the issue especially as the weather starts to get cooler.

Glow plugs help the car start from cold. I had this problem, car revving higher and that fault code (+ a few more) I had to replace alternator and battery. (Did the glow plugs also at same time).
Get the alternator checked
