Hi, I've got a 2001 1.6 8 valve petrol. Please can anyone tell me the recommended cam belt change interval as I've read different things. Some say 10 years/100,000 miles, others say 8 years/80,000 miles but as some failed prematurely Vauxhall halved that to 4 years, 40,000 miles so big difference in what people say.
It was last done in 2016 at 67,000 miles and has now done 90,000 miles.
Also does the water pump need to be changed at the same time as I'm aware that some water pumps aren't driven by the cam belt.
