Hey everyone, got a problem with my brothers astra vxr as in the wastegate is completely seized, iv tried some heat on the top of it to try and free it off but no joy, were does it stick and whats the best thing to try next? Thanks!

Mine literally did the same thing last week, I found that wd40 and a hammer to gently tap the wastegate left and right worked the best. They get carbon built up inside the ball bearing. Then put a smidge of copper grease over it to keep it moving. The only reason I found mine out was because they wastegate seized shut and snapped the actuator rod clean in 2.



You see the nut at the end of the actuator rod, that's what the wastegate is (a lever)
