whats the best way ro clean these up? I will be stripping the engine soon to do my stem seals and rings. any help would be great thanks.

On the z18xer, after removing the solenoids, I removed the orange filter screens, cleaned everything with a toothbrush & cleaner. Then I tested them with a power supply for proper actuation and cleaned them a bit whilst opening and closing.

Not sure if the z16xer has the same solenoids and/or the same issues.

Seen a few posts on this issue.
Im servicing the car this weekend and also changing the rocker cover gasket.

So... at the same time i might as well pull the 2 solenoids.
There are some YT videos that say take all the screens off, and even vauxhall dealerships did this.
Thoughts ?. Or just clean them up good with brake cleaner until all dirt removed and refit ?.

While going through my TECH II i did notice there is a "Clear VVT adaptions", so i will do this too post service and let the ECU re-learn.
