Hellp MY gearbox bearings are gone were the driveshaft goes in, there is play so the garge said a new gearbox it needed, but i am not convinced. can i get the bearing replaced or is it a new gearbox, the car is 6 mouths out of warrenty and only covered 31000 miles can i swing something with VX, man im ****** of lol any help would be appricated

Do you have a full service history? Try phoning VX customer services, they may at least offer a contribution towards the repair..

it is just due for the 30000 service and had 1 at 10000 a year ago has u got a number for them thanks

to be fair i dont think theyre all that common engines on here, will the 1.7 gear box not fit?

go to tesco web site,buy a warranty,then ring them?need to check cover first,but thats the angle id take?

just checked this tesco warrenty and actully i think it could work lol but could someone check this out and see if it is possiable thanks i will most likly have to go with the top package which is the finiest one

id be tempted to watch that box on ebay mate, no bids with a day and a half left. looks promising.

yeah but if i pay 200 over a year and be coverd for that year and it will be much cheaper if i get the warrenty than buyin it for min of £160 then £200 to fix it then maybe with a clutch aswell we are lookin rounded £400 then in a mouth later my turbo spills its gutts another £250. i think u catch my drift lol that gearbox was the way i was goin to go but after astra18 suggestion i think it is the way to go.
