Hi everyone,

I've recently got the ECN059704, which indicated that there's something wrong with the thermostat. It stopped opening for some reason. I've also had a minor leak in the water pump so I've changed both. After putting everything back together, I ran the car, the thermostat opened, and it's been running smooth since, however the error persists despite disconnecting the battery for a while. Any idea how to reset the error?

Thanks

The code is related to the inbuilt thermostat heater, not the stat itself,it's a type B code,
disconnecting the battery won't clear the code but 4 consecutive ignition cycles will if there is no existing problems.
If you cycled the ignition and the fault light is still on then you still have a problem
(wiring, fuse, bad connection or possibly the new stat)
if there's no light and it's just a code stored in the history you need 40 consecutive warm-up cycles if no failures are reported to clear it.
Of course a scan tool will clear it straightaway, but once again if there is a actual fault the code will just pop up again.
