whilst getting my parking sensors fitted on Tuesday at Converted Chris's place I asked about spray cans

the parts dept used the only one they had in stock painting the sensors (well, he gave me the can with what was left in) but did say they are about £10 each

I don't mind paying extra for the genuine ones but is it worth buying these, or will any other manufacturers be ok for paint matching

I'd need at least 2, or more likely 3, for the front V and tailgate strip, and I want a decent finish

if its going to end up crap I'd rather pay to get them painted at a bodyshop

Bodyshop, you will never get a quality finish that has the same look as the rest of the body work with spray cans.

Mixman & a few other have sprayed their own V grills.

And do you think Mixman would settle for a crap finish ???

I use the genuine GM spray cans. They're about a tenner as you say, and they come with the lacquer as well. Works out to be cheaper than the Halfords ready-mixed stuff

so just painting the V How many cans will be required?

It's taken me almost a can to do my boot strip, so I'd guess around the same for the V.
