Hi all I am a Newby and looking for some help, I have a 2012 vx line astra J and the brake pedal seems very spongy. Had some rear pads fitted Thursday which I thought may eliviate this but no, I also topped up the brake fluid but again no improvement

Any suggestions?

How old is the fluid ? try bleeding the brakes, topping up won't help a spongy pedal.

No idea how old mate.

Are you suggesting new brake fluid, and a re bleed may sort things??

I thought if the fluid was low it may help by topping up

Yes,first thing to try especially as you don't know how long it's been in there

Halfords automotive charge £40 for a brake fluid change - which I think is reasonable

You likely have air in the system and a fluid change will likely help things as the system will be bled too
