Hi, I brought a 2011 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 a few months ago, the car has been brilliant up until recently..
I have this horrendous screech (it’s LOUD) this happens when..

-The de mister is on and it’s idle it chirps/squeaks
-When the de mister is on and I drop the clutch it screeches loudly
-When idle and the headlights are put on it chirps/squeaks
-When parked up and the steering wheel is turned from side to side

It’s had a new drive belt and tensioner yet no success. I have a feeling it’s the alternator or the alternator clutch pulley?

Someone help! it’s driving me insane ?????

I'd say you're probably right. Only makes a noise when loaded.
You could try taking the belt off and trying all the above and see if the noise goes away.

Is there any way of know for sure? I don’t want to buy an alternator and it not be the root to the problem

As above, with the belt off it won't be going round and if you can do all the things you normally do and it's quiet then it can only be the alternator.
