Hi everyone, looking to give my astra a service myself (never done it myself before). Just had a few questions - is it straightforward enough? Are the service kits on ebay any good, though oil isn't included, or am I better getting things individually? Thanks

fairly straightforward then, air filter, pollen filter and plugs if needed,
just different oil filters depending if it's an XE or XER,and possibly different plugs
i'd get dexos 2 5w30 oil

i assume its a z18xer if its a 2008

oil - use gm 5w30

oil filter - the oem vauxhall one is made by hengst - which you can get from gsf car parts (use the code on the website)

plugs - oem ones are Bosch FQR8LEU2

air filter - vauxhall oem is mann - you want the mann C30130

pollen filter Pollen / Cabin Filter fits VAUXHALL ASTRA G, H 1.4 1998 on B&B 13175554 1718046 5055936612501 | eBay

Exactly as above.
I just get all the parts from Euro Car Parts. Use their own brand 5w/30 GM Tripple QX oil.
Bosch oil and air filters. Pollen filter too if you want one.
And the correct NGK R plugs. ZFR5F

You should really use NGK R plugs. The direct ignition system is based on SAAB's DI system and uses the spark plugs for Knock Detection. And they recommend NGK R.
