Hi guys thinking of buying a pre cat for my 1.9 was wondering if anyone would say its a worthy mod. At 150/160 plus fitting its not the cheapest mod. Wanted to get views before I jumped and bought one. M currently running a Simota and crd2 red box (old one ) previously rolled 193bhp would the pre cat see as many gains as they state on manufacturers site.

My bhp on a 1.6t went up by about 3 or 4. On the listings they said about 10/12. Torque went up 30 ft lbs over standard.

That's wht I mean a little skeptical about 10bhp that's a lot from a pipe essentially just waying up the price for benefits

I bashed the insides out my pre-cat, termed gutting, that worked well, just not as free flowing though.

Try that first.

Yes. It's not as noticable as when you first slapped on your CRD2 but it definitely helps the car perform.

If you're not convinced, do what Nello says and remove the guts from a standard one, if you feel that makes a difference then a proper upgrade will only be better.
