Yes, the 04 onwards astras should use the GM LL spec oils. However, you don't need to use them if you are aout of warranty. You can use a 5w-30 (or 5w-40 if it's heavily tuned) without the LL spec, but pick a better quality oil than the ones that meet the GM specs. You'd have to change it at 10k/annually, but that's the best way to do it anyway. A lot of BMW and VW owners are now saying that they are having problems after being on the LL service schedule.
