Rear crank seal

Have what I think is the rear crank shaft seal leaking again. Had this problem 35000 miles ago when I had the clutch and pressure plate changed. I asked him to change the seal as the clutch was slipping, only cold starts. I remember him say it was pretty bad.
I was under the car yesterday and looks like the leak has come back.

Is this quite a common fault with Astras especially the G 1.7Cdti SXi variants?

Is it better to buy original Vauxhall or something equivalent?

It's not really a common thing on the 1.7 Isuzu bases engines as far as I can tell. I have had and seen others with the outer seal (cam belt end of the crank) fail at 200k plus, but not many flywheel end. Either way, a decent quality replacement (if fitted correctly) should last a lot longer than 35k.
