i have fitted folding mirrors to my astra h and replaced the existing switches on drivers door the one with the extra controls, instead of using tech2/opcom to switch it on i ran a cable with in line fuse from the battery to pin 13 of the switch and they now work as they should from the button

what i want to do it get them working from the deadlock to fold in and from the ignition to open up, i have located the deadlock wire in the door and after using a multimeter i know which wires from switch to mirrors do the opening and closing, the switch seems to have some form of reply in it as the voltage is only present for a few seconds, does anyone know what type of reply i will need to get this working as i want it?

I should just point out that the mirrors are hard wired, ie., there is no option in tech2 that would ever need turning on for them, regardless of how you wired them.

Sounds like what you need is a latching relay, this type keeps its previous state after the signal is removed.

thanks for replying, should i just go to somewhere like maplins and ask for latching relays?
on a separate note, my car has a 3 line display and i am lead to believe that this means it is an easy job to switch on my board computer, how much would you charge to activate this?
