Hi guys

Not sure if anyone else has had this error and knows of a solution.

Basically within Opcom when I choose my 1.9 CDTI Z19DTH in the 'engine' selector I got an error dialog box.

Cant rember exactly what it said but I had varios choices.

Decided to stop there and see if theres a solution.

Am running Opcom 08-2010

Options are:-

* Incomplete software installation

* Your version of Op-Com doesn't recognise all of the different types of ECU out there

* There is a problem with the interface that is causing the engine identifier to report incorrectly

* There is a problem with your engine ECU.

Most likely to be those in that order.

Cheers for your reply

The only thing ive had to install is drivers for it to be recognised. Doesnt look like there is anything else to install

Have you checked you are using the right COM port?
another thing I noticed with opcom is you have to have it all connected and then open the opcom program

as a matter of interest what does it say when you go into settings and select "test interface"
If you go to "control panel" "system" "hardware" "device manager " "ports" and see what port opcom is using (opcom plugged in to computer to check) and make sure the opcom program is using the same port

Yeah your right sorry I was getting mixed up with my elm 327 interface
It seems to be recognising your opcom and the only thing I can think of is when you did the "test interface" and it said successful did you "save config" (it's on the same page"

All working now. Well it works on my 56 plate but will have to try on the wifes 08 plate later. Cant see any reason why it wouldnt though.

I think using the newer version of Opcom was the reason it didnt work in the first place!

Many thanks for all your help!
