Hi all, I have a problem with my 1.9 cdti z19dth. I have no boost and when scanning for codes nothing appears, up to yet I've cleaned the EGR and also the MAP sensor with no change in performance.
So hoping some of your experienced minds out there could point me in some direction of what I should be checking and how to eliminate what could be wrong.

From what I could see the small vac pipes (silver) with the rubber reducers on look ok from the pump, is there something I can do to check there is actually vacuum. I haven't been underneath the car properly to see if the actuator is working as it should. If there is no vacuum on the actuator and it is stuck in a position could this cause it to have no boost at all.
Please correct me if any of this doesn't sound right, I'm learning as I go :)

The actuator will rest at a set position, only when the vacuum is let through from the solenoid will it pull open the vnt system in the turbo creating boost.

Check all electrical conections are solid and also check the solenoid which is behind the drivera side headlight behind the bumper, you should be able to just get to the arm of the actuator if your underneath the car of you can move it a bit then i would say its free and not your problem as sometimes the rurbo gets badly coked up inside and stops the vnt cheese like wedges from moving

Good luck

Ok thanks Rob, I'll have a look around tomorrow if I can get underneath. For a couple of weeks, during boost and harder acceleration, my revs would rise faster than usual but not really getting anywhere faster, if that makes sense.
So say if there is no vacuum coming from the solenoid, this could cause no boost. Or if everything else is in order, it's a strip and clean of the turbo?

If your revs are rising faster than your going that would point to clutch slip....

No vacuum no boost

Them black corner pieces that hold the small chrome pipe can be deceiving and they might be a leak cheapest thing to do is buy some small bore plastic or silicone hose and run it from the vac pump to the solenoid and from solenoid to the turbo so you know its fresh pupe no leaks.

If your turbo has been ok and wouldn't of thought it would just give up i would say it should get worse over time.

Again another option would be to buy a solenoid slighter cheaper and an easy swap for a hands on chap.

I did think this, but it doesn't do it now I'm not getting the boost. I've not really had time to check anything yet, but seems like I actually get boost around 3k rpm. Can I bypass the vacuum reservoir (black box thing) and use 3mm silicone pipe from the pump direct to the boost control solenoid, or do the metal pipes have to stay?
