If something bad happened to my Coupe i might be tempted in to getting a Mk4 estate as a load carrier, shame they never did a Gsi/ Sri turbo version in the UK and i think i'd have trouble insuring a modified one, would be nice making a sleeper out of one though.

Yeah sleeper would be cool. I’m just thinking about making it look nice, doesn’t have to be quick for me

It should make a decent motor either way and if its clean and only got 60k miles has plenty of life left in it, a good buy i reckon.

So quick update. I’m in lockdown at the minute (Tier 4), but I’ve got plenty of bits to keep me busy and a few more on the way.

34166

A set of sxi grey seats to fit with door cards to modify.

34167

new wipers front and back. A passenger side wing mirror to replace (mines cracked).
Ashtray that stays closed. Bee sting antenna and new gasket.
And new gear and handbrake gaiters with green stitching.
also have a scorpion back box on the way, pics to follow.

I’ve also got a 98 Fiesta that needs 2 cv boots, new downpipe gasket, handbrake adjusting and a patch of welding.
and an 06 Focus that needs a new horn and droplinks.

Oh also got a new key body cos the old one was knackered. Reset the central locking as the woman i bought it off said it was “broken”. And remembered to do the old ‘folded bit of card’ trick so the buttons actually work 😅

Eventually I’ll get a flip key cut and the 2nd key needs a chip programming which I have opcom for (on an old Vista laptop somewhere 🤔).
Plans initially are: (whilst I’m in lockdown)
-full service
-Fit parts I already have
-try and JB weld repair rear bumper crack
-full interior valet (during seat swap)
-swap steering wheel radio control wires so they work with the Kenwood head unit.
-remove tow bar

and whatever else I can find to keep me busy

comments, questions, tips welcome 👍🏻
Also can someone confirm that you can see the pics I’m posting please 🤓

Well it’s absolutely freezing today so decided to tidy up the gym half of the garage.
the workshop half is full of car parts and bits at the minute.
Cleared out the gym equipment, swept and lay the new rubber floor mats.

Got a satisfying update for you guys. The boot carpet was absolutely disgusting 🤢
Caked in dirt and dog hair. And now it looks brand new!
started with a stiff brush, drill brush attachment and vacuum. Then moved into the garage when it started snowing again! Then warm water, carpet shampoo and a 2nd drill brush x 2 passes.
then a final vacuum and it’s now drying inside (so it doesn’t freeze 🥶).

Giving the new (2nd hand) sxi grey seats and door cards a good clean today while the footies on in the background 👌🏻
They’ll never be perfect but at least they’ll be cleaner, better looking and much more comfortable than the current interior.

door cards are done and the rear bench has been shampooed and drill brushed. Gotta wait for it to dry and then vacuum again. Then I’ll know if it needs a 2nd round of shampoo.
I don’t have an extractor/carpet cleaner so it’s just a damp clean, not soaking.

This seat has a little bolster wear. Do you guys think it’s work getting fixed?
ive been quoted £80-£100 but I only paid £30 for the whole interior 🤷🏼‍♂️

Had a busy day today, right up until I ran out of time (school run) and it started raining 😣.

First I cleaned the boot interior. It was covered in grit and dog hair, but turned out pretty good.
