Mannol oil seems as good as premium brands at half the price

One of the technicians courses i went on when working at a dealer included a couple of hours on oils and the various qualities sold, although a lot use the same oil base the biggest difference would appear to be the quality and quantity of the various additives used,
I don't know what car/engine you have but imo this has got more important now with the introduction of GDI engines and the subsequent amount of LSPI issues on these engines,so for my GDI's i always use a good brand oil of the correct specification,
i'd rather spend £20 more than increase the chance of LSPI failure.

I would probably go for a cheaper brand for a 10 year old car at that mileage as well,
as i'm sure you know the most important thing on that engine is to keep the oil regularly changed and the VVT working
