Yes this, maybe use water mixed with shampoo or something in a spray bottle as a lube. I've heard of people snowfoaming and using that as a lube which seems like a cool idea, although quite messy depending on the foam you use! I'm going to give mine a clean soon and my plan is:

Snowfoam
Rinse
Wash with 2BM
Rinse
Snowfoam and clay with clay mitt
Rinse
Dry
SRP polish by hand or black hole depending on which I fancy
FK1000P
Megs endurance tyre shine
How long due to expect all that work to take?

5-10 mins with a tea break in the middle I guess*

*is how long I will tell people I spent doing it, realistically a couple of hours.

Snowfoam and rinse, 5 mins
Wash with 2bm, 5 mins
Snowfoam and clay, 10-15 mins,
Dry and SRP, 20 mins?
FK1000p 15 mins? Tyre shine during this and the SRP time too.

Mine is usually

Spray the alloys with Super Wheels and allow to clean off.
Pre rinse,
Two bucket method with Autoglym Shampoo
Rinse
Dry
Autoglyn Super Resin Polish
Scrub the wheels while waiting for the polish to dry a bit.
Buff Polish off
Apply Extra Gloss Protection
Apply wheel sealent while gloss is drying
Buff Gloss off.
Apply Window Polish.
Apply Rubber and Trim care while Window polish drys.
Buff Window Polish off.
Wipe down Interior with Autoglyn Interior Dressing.

That usually takes between 2- 3 hours as you have about a half hour wait for the Super Resin and Extra Gloss to dry before buffing!

Thanks for the tip! I've heard that the Bilt Hamber clay bar only needs water as a lube? Or should I mix in some shampoo as well?

Bilt Hamber clay is fine with just water. Using snow foam as a clay won't work as it will run off and dry long before you get around the car

I love having days spent on the car when everything family related is sorted and I don't feel guilty. Just using good products and taking my time

LOL, that's only a once a year job.

Most weekends its just a foam, wash, dry, clean wheels. Probably 2 hours max.

Way too quick, takes me about an hour and a half just to wax the car
Really? You're spending too long on that then! Takes a couple of mins to apply, wait 10 mins then buff off. Leave it longer sometimes and do a second layer sometimes.

Polish is used to remove imperfections in the paint & best results are achieved using a polishing machine.

Wax is used after polish to protect the paint & is best applied by hand using an applicator & buffed off with a plush microfibres cloth.
