Hi all, Not long had a 2.0 DTI Zafira 03 model.

Started to notice a knocking noise when the clutch pedal is depressed. When the clutch is released all sounds normal but when engaged its quiet a loud knocking.

Would have expected a wirling type nose is the clutch was at fault, but hey im no mechanic.

Anyone got any ideas???

Dual mass fly wheel would be my guess

Sounds like i have in my Astra and DMF as said... if the car is still under warrenty it should be fixed....

But be prepared for a fight. As when i googled "astra dual mass flywheel" there is ALOT of folk saying they have had to pay out over £500 bucks to get this fixed.

Am dreading them telling me i have to pay for this..

Many thanks to you both. I googled this too, not good, does appear to fail a bit on the Vauxhaul's.

Scary if you read all the nightmare stories about these and the hydraulic thrust bearings etc you would never buy one....

AFAIK the 2.0 DTi only has a single mass flywheel, this is a 1.9 fault.

Not sure what it could be though.
