Hey guys, anyone know what the reason for INSPEC 3 on my trip computer?? I thought INSPEC meant that a service is due, but when i needed a service a it said INSPEC 2.... and i only had a service 3 months ago.

Anyone shed some light on the subject x

The 4 INSP Warning messages

InSP - service interval display

InSP2 - Faulty Bulb

InSP3 - Battery voltage of remote control or electronic key in Open&Start system low

InSP4 - Drain water from diesel fuel filter.


seems like you need a new battery in your key

You need to get your check control turned on, it will tell you about stuff like that

CR2032 Lithium battery, I got 10 off Amazon for about £5 for mine and my mrs' cars. That's for the H anyway, not sure if the G is the same type.

save your self some ££ any supermarket sells them and you can get them alot cheaper than £5

Check Control will tell you these things in a friendlier way... for example, a non-check control car will say InSP2 when a bulb is out... but a Check Control enabled car will actually say "Low Beam", or "Parking Light" or whatever... so you have a plain English answer to what bulb is actually out.

Needs to be done with Tech2 or equivalent. If you buy and fit some more sensors, it'll also tell you things like when your coolant level is low and when your screenwash is low

How hard these sensors are to fit though, I'm not sure. My 54 plate SRi came with check control fitted from factory :shrug: Without the sensors, it can be enabled just for bulb checking though (Y)
