is it a flux capacitor?

Could you tell us what it is and how you fixed it?

Yes.

You need 2m of faloupian tube, air bubble, long stand and a left handed knife to fit it

Start off by having a proper think

Eh

You don't need one.
Agreed. It only delays the drop in power and does nothing to stop the changes in power dropped. Best thing is a second battery on a wiring set up that will charge only when needed

Some people just run a positive run of wire from the front battery to the rear and ground it. A lot of the big UK builds with 20k+ RMS do this such as Big Black, Ian P and teamSPB. None of them use caps either

What amps are you running mate?
Also what wiring you using and why the need for second battery/cap? If there is lights dimming you could just go The Big 3 route where you upgrade the 3 main wires in the engine bay to 4/0 gauge along with using 0 gauge wiring throughout.

The earth mod does not stop your lights from dimming if you’re trying to pull more power than the standard alternator/battery can cope with.

ICE run’s best at 14.4v this is only achieved when the engine revs reach 2000rpm. At this point the alternator starts to work.

A split charge system has a number of uses, not just about more power to amps. Running AV or audio for sustained periods without the engine revs above 2000rpm will drain a standard battery very quickly. Split charge system using gel batteries will overcome this problem.

Power caps have a single use; this is to deliver very short bursts of power when needed to cover demands whilst setting up an SQ sound system. Farad caps are better at this than a split charge system or any other method; the power delivery is more readily available so no hiccups in SQ.

BUT you need at least 10 to 20 farad to do this. The small caps are just for a bit of bling in an install, they serve no usable purpose at all. They can course harm if shorted; many a car has gone up in flames due to poor wiring of these things.

Planetse, are you part of talkaudio?

Just from reading there, a lot of your top SQ cars none of these use power caps tbh. I know they provide short periods of extra power, but people don't use them because they also need to get their power from somewhere which essentially is putting more strain on the power supply.

What i was saying about not even using a split charge system, if you have just a big bank of batteries you have a lot more AH capacity, which is essentially what you need for a big audio setup.

Defn U uses 20 XS Power batteries simply by running extra runs of 0 gauge to the bank in the boot.
