Hi..Cut a long story short..the yellow oil light with the zig zag line under neath came on..meaning i was low on oil..so put in 1 litre and half..done 1000 mile approx and now light on again..not i zip of oil on dipstick..What could be wrong??

Note car going top until this..lets an odd chug out of it recently thats it..HELP!

Check for any leaks in the engine bay

Is their any blueish/grey smoke coming out the exhaust on idle? if so me personally would limit driving it since it would appear that the oil is entering the cylinders and being burnt with the diesel or possibly from worn turbo seals, not to worry you bu diesels tend to enjoy running on engine oil and once they get enough of it its pretty hard to stop the engine until the oil has ran dry. But since you've already done 1000 miles then it possibly that you have caught it soon enough or that theirs an oil leak hidden somewhere?

Check for mayo. Could be hea gasket but i can imagine a leak. Those engines are solid and to cook a h/g on a deisel is a rare job...
