Hi there i have just had my flywheel and clutch changed on my astra 1.9 cdti and only 50 miles later there is a loud rattling noise when i start the engine and when setting off and it stops rattling when I pick up speed , does anyone no if a flywheel can fail that fast or if it may be something else , it defiantly sounds like something spinning and rattling

Thanks for the reply mate , I chose the cheapest garage £570 for clutch and flywheel , £300 parts and £270 labour so probably not the best decision iv made I just hope they don’t try and say it’s something else and not there fault

If they have put a budget flywheel in could it fail that quickly , its marking more noise than the original that had 136000 miles on it from when the car was new

After 50 miles you have this problem the garage must fix it at no extra cost to you.
