My car is displaying both 161450 and 161600 codes. I have done a search and found that these mean:

161600 - Steering column CIM, wrong environment identifier immobiliser B-006
161450 - Immobiliser wrong signal received B-008 or wrong transponder key immobiliser B-006

I will probably after take to vauxhall but can anyone shed any light on these? Looking at other threads am I right in thinking it needs a new cim or an update?

The spanner light flashes sometimes and doesn't allow me to start the car but when I take the key out and put it back in then it will start.

Other issue is sometimes the scroll On the steering wheel doesn't always work for the on board computer.

Im guess these are the errors?

have you checked whether your horn works with the headlights on?

you could phone vauxhall head office and ask if the CIM recall has been done on your car, if not, they will tell you to book it in at the dealer.

as above. a CIM faultsounds the obvious cause and there has been a recall on these. its a case of seeing if yours has been done or not.

There is a software update available for intermittent non-start with codes 1614 and 1616 stored.

Nothing to do with the CIM clip mod or the horn not working with the headlights on, which is a hardware fault.
