So i have learnt that these EC03 tuning boxes
certainy improve the performance,

Do they have any negative impact on the cars engine?
Anyone know of any occurances of this?

Im 20, and pay 1k for my insurance on a 1.9 cdti 150 xp
if i gave them a ring and said im adding this box.
50bhp or so extra, more fuel efficent,
What kind of effect in premium would i be facing?

thats not bad for the 1.9, im 20 and mines is the same for the 1.6 sxi with 2 claims 2 years ago. I reckon the fact its a modification to get it to 200bhp rather than a standard car at that will make a bit of a difference and the premium could take a drastic jump, only way to find out is to phone them and say you are thinking of doing it and get a quote

Don't worry buddy, I was with Admiral, and they would not insure my CRD either,
I had to change companies:( But all in all, not that bad as my policy only went up by £26

I would say your insurance company will bend you over and **** you up the **** when you tellthem like Direct Line wanted to do with me. I think most mainstream companies don't like the engine output played with. You'd be better off trying some of the specialist companies I would have thought.
