Hi all,

Got a 15 yer old Astra H due it's MOT soon.

The headlight lens are clouding over, with one worse than the other (see pics)

I am going to order a Turtle Wax Lens Restoration kit for the future, but do you think they look bad enough to cause an issue for MOT?

Cheers

A quick solution is to spray some WD 40 on them and wipe off with a clean cloth the day before your mot.
Then you can do a proper job with a restoration kit.

I don't think they were even an advisory last time, but they probably a bit worse that the previous MOT (the driver side in particular, probably from where it catches the sun more)

I think all they test are the lights are working and the beam pattern is correct, mine have been like this for ages and had no problems so far!

Hi..
Those "restoration kits are a bit hit and miss". Really it needs to be done properly.
Very fine wet/dry paper and then mopping compounds.
See my link below.

For an emergency, i.e. the day before the MOT. Put some fresh engine oil on a rag and rub it into the lights.
