CID 'Hidden' Test Menu - What does it all mean?

Following on from the post describing the meaning of the data shown on the hidden menu screens on the BID, here is an explanation of the screens on the CID display. The GID will be very similar, just in monochrome rather than glorious technicolour. :mrgreen:

Gives information on the hardware and software versions on the CID screen.

Testmode: Dimming

Shows data regarding the control of the instrument illumination

Mode: PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)
U-Term 30:Voltage at permanent live supply to screen
Input: Dimming set-point from CIM
U-Reference:13.5V Value of reference voltage
Chart:100% Dimming value for display
LED:100% Dimming value for LEDs
LED / LCD Temp: Temperature of display
Brightness: ? Stays on 0000
Delay A/B: ? Stays on 0000



Dimming screen shown with headlights on.



Testmode: Clock

GPS: N/A - Time correction by GPS time signal
RDS: N/A - Time correction by RDS signal
Set: NO - Changes to YES if time is updated by either of above signals
Corr / Corr RDS: YES - Allow time correction by RDS or GPS signals
Local Offset: Time Zone from GMT
PI-Radio: 00
PI-Prog: 1000
RDS-Max-Diff: 3min

Dist-RC: 0.0m/s - Vehicle velocity in metres / second
Speed: 0 km/h - Vehicle speed in kilometers per hour
Coolant: 65.C - Coolant temperature
Sensor: 1.5.C - Uncorrected temperature from outside temp sensor
Display: 1.0.C - Corrected temperature value for display on screen
ICE-Enable: ON - Ice warning activated in display
ICE-Active: ON - Ice warning active - outside temp <3.5.C
ICE-Ack: ON - Ice warning acknowledged by driver

Data regarding fuel consumption calculations

Inj-RC: 0.0 ml/s - actual fuel consumption in millilitres per second
Range: 93km - Calculated range remaining (this is displayed in KM even though it shows as miles on the main BC screen)

Bus - Warnings currently being received from the CAN bus regarding bulb warnings / low fluid levels
Warn - Failure warnings displayed on screen
Ack - Warnings acknowledged by driver
Store - Persistent warnings to be displayed when ignition switched on/off

TMC 1 - Traffic Message Channel active (0=inactive)
TPULS 0 - Frequency of hard wired vehicle speed signal from ABS control unit
SW0098 - Software version and serial number
Route Class 4 - Value changes according to type of road (0=Motorway, 1= main (A) road etc)
MAN 2000 - ?
MAN 0 - ?
