Brake Master Cylinder in the ld girl seems it might have started to given up the ghost.

We have replace front and rear disks and pads not 2 weeks ago and I was getting a soft peddle fro the get go...we re bleed them and stil peddle goes soft.

We believe it is the master cylinder but i am having trouble finding the part number ....any one able to help :)

Just out of curiosity how does the clutch pedal feel? Since they are both on the same hydraulic system.

how did you push the caliper pistons back, usualy forcing the pistons back without opening the bleed screw/nipple causes BMC failure
We used the correct tool i.e the one that turns the piton as it pushes it back in but we didnt open the nipple....however i just remember we saw alot of fluid under the car after I took it for a drive was up the front under the master cylinder...but we couldnt see where it came from...as was none down the side of the car above where it may have leaked from the cylinder..if that all makes sense

if it had lost fluid, your warning light would be on, the fluid might have been air conditioning condensate?

what about the vacuum pump for it, could that be faulty?

was the filler caop removed during bleed, also if it wasnt i would be checking all the piping etc as with the lid on its sealed and shouldnt leak with the bleed niplle closed the exces fluid your pushing back out of the caliper it self is going no where but past the seals and leaking all over the place, i would defo double check all lines from the servo back, if non found i would say its master cylinder seals!
fluid just doesnt appear on the floor for nothing
