I see these terms a lot, but I have no idea what they mean.

I know they are the small screen in the dash, but which is which?

How do I know what one I have ? (Its orange and pretty boring ;)) I would like the one that has all the tyre pressures on it and looks good if that is possible?

Can anyone help me out?

there isnt one that gives tyre pressures thats something that needs to be bought as an optional extra when buying the car.
You can have the tyre pressure on the CID but you need to change the ABS module if you dont have the correct one and buy 4x pressure sensors if i remember correctly. Then you would need a Tech2 session to program it all.

There are some other tyre deflation systems out there SRI-Dave had one which was none vauxhall if i remember correct

Hope this helps

The tyre pressure monitor system wasnt an option in the UK as far as im aware however it can be retrofitted

i did it to mine and requried the following

BN ident ABS pump
4 tpms valves for wheels
tpms ecu
hazard warning switch assembly (with dds switch)
new centre console if needed
wiring
tech2 to program it all

and it requires either the CID or GID to work

if you have the correct pump then mite be worth while but after fitting mine i didnt think it was worth the hassle/expense tbh

Hi

Am i right in saying i can have any of the above in my car? I have a 1.6 SXI with the 2 line display. Wouldn't mind getting the CID, looks pretty neat.

Also, i will need it divorced when i buy it, but then it will need to be paired and the trip computer enabled using a tech2?

Sorry for the noobish question but i seem to be having a little bit of an information overload when it comes to modifying cars.

im sure stampede or pecky will read this at some point an correct me if im wrong - but any display can be fitted to any car (but if fitting a cid with cd30 radio, you will lose bass function)

you will have to divorce the current screen and marry the new screen via tech2 (although not if you have an aftermarket head unit), which requires the car pass which has your security codes on it (although if you dont have one, these can be obtained from vauxhall for a charge)

hope this answers your question

You pretty much answered your own questions there! Yes you can fit a CID, it will need to be divorced then paired to your car using tech2

There's a few types of CID that work with different years of car but I can't think of them at the moment if you do a search it has been covered alot

Edit: beaten to it with more detail lol

Hi guys, yeah, unfortunately the CD30/CD30mp3 units are not fully compatible with the CID.

You lose treble, bass, fader and balance display. The functions still work but you have to set them without seeing them (on the 9-button CD30) and don't work properly at all (on the 6-button CD30)

Upgrading to the CDC40/CD70/DVD90 will sort this out, and give you much better sound quality at the same time (and satnav if you get the CD70)

The monochrome GID still works with the CD30 no problems.
