There's a bulletin released on the issue (tsb3160),if your car is in the affected range it may need a software update and/or replacing the wiring connectors to the EGT sensors, you may need to contact a dealer to find out more.
I'd have to question that,it won't show as an outstanding update as i was only used upon customer complaint for the issue you're having,but you probably won't want to lose your map anyway
Yep you're unlikely to get any agreement between two garages,
The usual symptoms are loss of power and SVS lamp on. Message "turn off engine, engine overheated" shown in the instrument panel, coolant temperature gauge moves into red, and engine stalls in idle,but this is a false warning causing the car to stall out.
You really need proper diagnostics and the ability to SPS if required, so preferably a specialist needs to see it,
one thing you could consider is getting the pigtail connectors changed,this is supposed to be done if a sensor has been judged faulty and may be a cheaper option to try before a software update,
