I've given up waiting for a remap on a 2.0 CDTi SS GTC and am planning on getting a DTUK box. I had one on my last 1.9 CDTi but it caused lots of black smoke when I accelerated. There was only 10k on the car at the time and the smoke issue stopped when I took the box off to sell the car. I was delighted with the performance increase however and would like to hear from anyone who has fitted a box to a GTC if it causes black smoke.

I'm sticking my neck out here and will say I bet it will. The increased power is because of increased fuel. So it will smoke. As most diesels do when booting it, even when standard (Y)

as mickey says when booting it loads of black smoke comes out the back, my old astra did

You won't see any smoke from a GTC as they have a dpf fitted.

I have a DPF bud, as you know, and I still see smog sometimes. Are the new DPF's different?
