For some reason my car is more economical at 70 in 5th than 6th! Anyone else notice this?

Mine's been remapped.

I get 55mpg in 6th and 58mpg in 5th! (constant 70mph)

yeah, been mentioed before, somthing to do with engine load and how the turbo controls the boost across the rev range or somthing along those lines, what you will find tho is doing 75-80ish6th gear become economical, wit the rev's sitting at near 2.2k, right where max torque is, or is atleast in my car.

I sit at 65 in 6th and get 52mpg on a standard car. It's about the same economy as 5th IMHO

Yeah it's hard to know exactly what gear and speed is the most economical. I prefer around 68mph on digi display in 6th. Trouble is unless you drive at night or early morning trying to maintain a constant speed around my dual carriageways is a real feat.
