service vehicle soon

Hi Does anyone know if it is possible to perform a pedal test on an astra j? I've read how to do it for other models but I can't seem to get it to work on my model. I'm trying to diagnose an intermittant 'service vehicle soon' fault... Thanks in advance, Graeme
