Hi, so I changed my alternator on my Astra G 1.7CDTI 94000 miles this week and after 2 days my power steering will not start immediately when I turn on my car. Normally it was starting immediately but for some reason now it is taking like 10 seconds to start.
Any ideas what should be fixed?
Looking to pick up an Astra next weekend.
Currently looking at the 2.0 CDTi in either an SRi or Elite.
My price range should get me 2012-14, sub 50k
I have a PDF copy of the 2011 and 2014 brochures not found anything in between yet.
Does anyone have any advice on the specs I've...

So about 6 weeks ago my 1.3 cdti 2008 suffered the infamous gearbox failure and blew a hole in the casing. I had it rebuilt in a new casing and had a bearing mod done on it aswell to future proof it. New clutch and flywheel.was done aswell - an expensive job to say the least.
Good day all!
Firstly, I apologize if i have posted this in the wrong section, I am a new user and haven't unraveled each area of the forum yet. Please feel free to have the thread relocated if necessary!:look:

The other night I noticed a problem on my 2008 1.3 cdti estate.

Bought my car roughly about 6 months ago, just stock, with no kit on it.
I managed to pull a rare one, I have the stock 120bhp but with the 16 valve engine. Basically comes with the 150bhp engine but been stock detuned 120bhp, so has the potential to match the 888.
Going to upgrade my car...

There's something wrong with my traction control... it works fine when it has too ;) but for some reason every time iv used my car for the past 2 or so weeks it just kicks in without me even putting my foot down and cuts all my power to the point of stalling :/ so i have to turn it off...
Hi. Hopefully somebody out there might have a little knowledge on this? I took my astra to get remapped today. It went on the rolling road and produced a healthy 155.5bhp with 287.7nm torque with a good curve. However, once a new map was loaded it reached 189.2bhp, 320.7 torque BUT had a...
I've had an idea for raising boost on a cdti engine, may be silly or may have been done before. Basically, your maximum boost i believe is limited by the ecu when the map sensor reads a certain pressure. So in theory putting a resistor in series with the signal wire from the map sensor woul give...
looking at selling my vxr in favour of a astra cdti 150 purely for something abit more economical but still fairly fun and sporty and wondered if anyone else has done the same and his/her thoughts prior to and after doing so...my mains thoughts are..
