    Astra J/GTC
Thanks for coming back to post the solution. As you say, it might help someone in future, so thank you. And glas it's sorted!
  2. Pedal Test on Astra Auto 2009

    Astra H
Hi and welcome to AON. You posted this in the Astra G section, but a 2009 model would be an Astra H or J: Astra G: 1998-2004 Astra H: 2004-2009 Astra J: 2009-2017 Astra K: 2017- Can you confirm which generation car it is and I'll move the thread to the right section for you? In the meantime...
  3. Astra J 2012 sri with parking brake and head light issues

    Astra J/GTC
I have moved this to the Astra J section for you. Hopefully somebody here might be able to give some advice.
  4. Astravan h leak

    Vans
Hi, I have moved your thread to the van section of the forum as people are unlikey to see it in the test forum where you posted it.
  5. Astra j 1.6 turbo Bluetooth troubles

    Astra J/GTC
Yours will be the same as mine then. Yeah the bluetooth is just for calls not music I'm afraid. USB sticks served me well for 7 years though.
  6. Astra j 1.6 turbo Bluetooth troubles

    Astra J/GTC
What year is the car? And if possible do you know which stereo it has (CD400, NAVI900 etc)? In my 2011 model the bluetooth was for calls only - music streaming was not supported. I put all my MP3s on USB sticks and put that in the USB slot - the sound quality is perfect from that (much better...
  7. Missing car play in astra j sedan 1.4 turbo 2019

    Astra J/GTC
To check the model year, check the 10th digit of the VIN against the following:
  8. Reverse lights

    Astra G
The standard hatchback has two reverse lights, but I don't know if the coupe is the same.
  9. Front driver side noise

    Astra J/GTC
I agree with @redman - the springs don't look right. It looks like you have the coils hitting each other, but in my SRi the springs had pigtails like redman said, so the first few turns can pass by each other without hitting. They look too new to be original, so I think someone has replced them...
  10. Missing car play in astra j sedan 1.4 turbo 2019

    Astra J/GTC
Hi @lulzimt are you sure it's an Astra J (the model that ran from 2009 - 2017)? A 2019 model is likely to be an Astra K...
  11. Running lights for Astra J sedan

    Astra J/GTC
I've moved your post to a new thread as it is not related to the thread where you first posted it. For info on bulb upgrades check out this thread: https://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/showthread.php?116929-Bulbs-and-lighting-upgrades-for-Astra-J-and-GTC-complete-list-for-reference
  12. 'G' dash bulbs - exact original type?

    Astra G
I've always gone ahead and released the cables from the back of the radio cage. I've never had an issue with breakage of the clips, but then the car was probably only about 10 years old last time I did it - I appreciate the pastics may have become a bit more brittle with age. From where you're...
  13. 'G' dash bulbs - exact original type?

    Astra G
Just got my old Haynes out to check. It says there are some clips (bent lugs I think) one on each side which secure the cage to the plastic trim surrounding it. You have to bend those out to release the cage apparently. Long time since I've done it!
  14. 'G' dash bulbs - exact original type?

    Astra G
I think that once you've taken out the screw right at the back in the middle, the cage should come out. There are some tabs/bumps/lugs whatever you might call them that protrude from the cage slightly to grip it to the plastic surrounding it, but you just give the cage a bit of a squeeze so that...
  15. 'G' dash bulbs - exact original type?

    Astra G
I think behind the radio display / clock they were the green ones (brighter). But again, this is just from vague memory.
  16. 'G' dash bulbs - exact original type?

    Astra G
I had the same issue when I wanted to change some bulbs on my old G. Even Vauxhall's parts system didn't say which power level they were, so I ended up buying a few of each so that I could fit the appropriate ones once I got it all apart. So I did that, put it all back together... and then...
  17. Ageing clock!

    Astra G
Intermittent problems are always the hardest to nail down!
  18. astra j misting

    Astra J/GTC
Obviously check for damp carpets or pools of water in the spare wheel well and footwells, but I suspect your issue will most likely be down to aircon by stealth as referenced in our how-to directory:
  19. Ageing clock!

    Astra G
RDS stands for Radio Data System. It's how the radio stations display the name of their station on your display, and many stations also transmit a time signal. It's handy for automatically adjusting the clock for summer/winter time for you, but it can be a pain if somehow incorrect signals are...
  20. Replacing odometer (mileage) bulb, replacing clocks onto connector

    Astra G
I took my clocks out once to replace a number of bulbs that had blown behind them. I can't remeber exactly how it goes now (it was many years ago), but I remember it wasn't difficult. The main thing I would warn you about is that the bulbs are on plastic bases that you have to twist to remove...
