Thumbs up clean engine

...seen some engine bays on here and they're pretty spotless just like the exterior etc.
how do they get so clean?.
are they cleaned by yourselves, or do you get them like professionally steamed cleaned and stuff?.

would like to get mine looking clean, but would rather get someone to do it?.
any places around what does this for the H please?.

many thanks....

Simple answer is to give it wipe round (use an old soft towel) every time you clean the exterior of the car and don't let the dirt build up. The black covers come up well with a spray of 'Back to black' or similar. Do not steam clean or pressure wash - that's asking for trouble with electrical connectors.

I use Bilt-Hamber’s Surfex HD with horse hair brush, agitate then powerhose the engine then dress the plastics with Megs engine dressing comes up really really well, not the greatest pic but here goes

If there are any electrical connections, wrap up in a plastic bag first.

Try not to use any jetwash if you can help it. Any All Purpose Cleaner (Daisy as above is cheap from Tescos, I use Meguiars APC) diluted 4:1 with water is great sprayed onto the engine. Brush it to agitate the dirt, rinse off.

Any plastic or rubber parts I dress in Aerospace 501. Gives a nice satin finish and protection to things!
