Swapping 2 line display to a 3 line

Hi all,

Get yourself on the for sale section or ebay and get yourself a divorced 3 line screen or another headunit and screen that are already paired up, no tech 2 required then. You may still have to have the trip computer activated but it'll be worth it, I'm sure Adam will be along soon enough to confirm for you, if not send him a PM

Depends where you get your screen from as to how much it costs.

You need a 3 line display, also refered to as a BID which is divorced from the original car.

I don't think Stampede can do an upgrade at the moment as the software wont code everything that needs to be done when upgrading.

If it isnt activated, you need to know the code in order to activate. It is possible but it is dependant on a friendly dealer getting you the code without a V5 document for the donor car.

Hey buddy, not sure on price yet but when I know what mine costs to upgrade I'll have a better idea but as far as that head unit goes (on ebay) do yourself a favour and hold out for a CD30MPŁ if you can, the MP3 edition is a much more cost effective upgrade, there is no guarantee that you will have the trip computer enabled if you put a different stereo in, it may still have to be enabled in your car via Tech 2.

It will probably have the trip computer enabled already, if not Tech2 can programme the appropriate code index.
