    Fence Paint on Car

    HI All,

I've just joined the forum, this is my 1st post and unfortunately its to have a bit of a rant about my neighbour who sprayed his fence with "ronseal sprayable fence treatment" on a windy day and got my 6 week old Sport Hatch SRI-XP covered in the stuff!!

I'm proceeding through his home insurance (he's being a bit of an **** tbh), but if it all looks like its not going to go through, I'm going to follow it up with a solicitor's letter! Anyway, if it all DOES go belly up and takes too long to claim, I need to get this crap off my car - luckily its black sapphire pearl so only shows up as red dots all over the place!

I have managed to clean a little off with a bug shifter pad from halfords and some elbow grease, but it leaves little scratches in the laquer (stopped after these appeared). Also its on the rubber seals on the windows etc, which won't shift at all.

I've taken it to vauxhall and they can clean it with some tar and glue remover, but say the car needs polishing afterwards, costing £400.

Has anyone seen/heard of this before and knows of an easy way to clean it off? I can get hold of some tar and glue remover, but havent the first clue when it comes to polishing!

Sorry I've gone on a bit, gutted about this , and to make matters worse, some tit put a small dent in the door just to the left of the drivers door handle 2 days after i discovered the ronseal!!!!

Would appreciate any advice people have to give...

    Thanks,

    John

    As above

Make sure you use plenty of that detailing spray to keep the surface wet whilst using the clay

Also keep the clay warm by massaging it in your hands

    Hi All,

Thanks for your help, bought some clay today!

Bloody hard work though, done 1/4 of the car so far, what you reckon I should use to get the stuff off the rubber trim? White Spirit?

    Cheers,

    John

If I were you I would leave it to a professional and claim the money off your neighbour. Its his fault not yours and if he's being an **** then keep reminding him its his problem. How thick do you have to be to not realise if you spray paint it drifts.
