was cleaning my car and noticed that the GM pads give off some aweful brake dust, my discs are going a beige colour!
Ive heard the green stuff pads are excellent at preventing brake dust but im wondering, would it be ok to use these when it comes round to replacing them or would they void the warranty through not being manufacturer parts?
Also, is there any pads similar to the green stuff that are good at getting rid of brake dust that arent a stupid green colour as im not to keen on having lumious green pads behind my wheels.
Tom
Not sure about warranty or that m8 but i've got greenstuff pads in the front and can highly reccommend them. Nowhere near the amount of brake dust off them as the oem pads! Much better braking too.
Oddly, I had Greenstuff on my Corsa and didn't rate them at all.
I prefer Apec pads - about as dusty as the OEM pads, but much better braking.

when i first got my sport hatch i couldn`t believe the amount of brake dust that builds up on the front wheels but after lowering it it ruduced it by over half. Basicly a non lowered car will dip on the front end under braking which puts the front brakes under strain. When lowering the car it will stay more even under braking which means the front brakes are under less strain (Y)

its not the wheels thats getting a build p of dust on. I wash them enough to keep the dust off.
The dust is building up on the discs which I hate:(

After playing with Vauxhalls for over 12 years now, having 5 Astra, some seriously tuned, I finally found the best pads around. Vauxhall standard GM pads - seriously. Just clean your wheels more often. Oh - Greenstuff suck, Redstuff are even worse!

just read back over the thread, i didnt readf the second one correctly, he did say brakes disks the second time
i was a bit tired yesterday though
so nobody rates greenstuff then? i only have an sxi which means i only have front discs, and there tiny. and there crap!! wuold it be worth upgrading the discs to ebc aswell if i upgraded to greenstuff?
I find them ok in mine m8, depends on what your after or previous experience in using greenstuff.
ive just been looking on LMF vauxhall at brake upgrades and saw this 308mm upgrade kit. it says it contains knuckles. what are these? can i source them myself cheaper? im not thinking of going that big for a 1.6 by the way. but maybe going for the 280mm, just a thought.
