I need to know :
Brown Wire (with black stripe)
Red Wire (with black stripe)
The above two wires, can someone i.d. them please, are they just pos + neg ??
These two wires go to the EGR valve - so basicly a solenoid - can someone confirm what they are please.
I wanna know if i can just bridge them with say 1/2 a paper clip or something
Bridging them may draw too much current…… What’s the resistance of the solenoid? It’s unlikely on a modern ECU that can detect the closed circuit, however bridging the circuit could burn the driver out in the ECU.
Phone me if you want, I’m sure that putting a resister in there is the way forward.

Hi mate, yeah, i think your right - it will need the resistor in it TBH. Thinking about it latterally it makes sence what you say.
I have no means of checking the resistance as i've not got a mulitmeter.
I'm off to Bath tomorrow, but i'll give ya a buz in the week if thats ok - see whats what then. I'm sure your right though, you know ya stuff like that ;) (Y)
Both wires can be + and ground. On a two wire EGR the ECU will swap the positive and negative dependandt on whether it needs to move the solenoid in or out.
There is a EGR cheater that you can buy from either the z20let forum or the Z22se forum - can't remember which! It looks to be some resistors and diodes.
