this is real weird , but has happened to me twice and i`m wondering if i`m the only one or if others have had this happen

keys odviously in ignition and driving along , turn corner and another key that is dangling on the loop that is holding yer keys together in a bunch gets jammed at a freak angle behind the steering wheel causing the steering wheel to go soild in the turn and not allow itself to be moved back :o:o you then carry on turning when the turn is no longer needed

scared the crap out me twice now , the first time i just thought it was a freak happening but it happened again

anyone else had this and my bunch of keys is actually very small , its the length of the secondary key that causes it , it must be the exact length to get caught between the back of the steering wheel and the loop on the key fob

it may be a fluke on my behalf but to me its a design flaw and the ignition barrel should be moved an inch or so more away from the steering wheel when its at its most retracted for safety

I never have other keys with my car one - always kept them seperate as I would hate to see/hear them dangling about.

Nope never have that problem as I don't have other keys on the same key ring. Why don't you take all other keys off your car key ring get one of those clips whereby you can attach them to one of your belt loops on yer trousers - very you, I mean fashionable

I only have my car key on there anyway as anything else would rattle on my hand control but that does sound scary!!

scary stuff....

why u dont try to get in touch with vxl explaining this.... yes as others said it doesnt happen a lot, but one time in enough... i dont want my steering wheel to get locked and then bang....
meanwhile mate, better keep ur car key separate...

are you that weak that a key sticking behind the wheel stops you turning it? unless its gets locked into some hole and perfectly jams up the wheel i'm sure a bit of a tug would move it. Take ya keys of the ignition set. I personally found the flip key is very weak (mine snapped off starting the car) so how hows survived the tug from the bunch when it got jammed is beyond me!!!!

i dont think its a design flaw i think its just a note to self, leave car key seperate lol
my key is loose for my car, and my other keys click to it for when im not in the car. when i am my keys go in the door pocket except the car key and one keyring of course in the ignition lol

i wont be leaving the car key seperate Ken thats for sure , and Stevie at 6ft and 17 stone i`m not very week tbh and yes the key did get jammed perfectly ..not once now but twice , whats the odds in that ??? maybe once is a freak happening but twice ??? you turn the wheel say to the right , the car turns and accelerates so making the bunch swing back , the loop on the end of ignition key holds other keys as does most peeps and one of those keys hanging on the loop digs into the backside of the steering wheel , with the key now dug in and the loop not being flexible it forms a bar and is very rigid , the wheel then cannot be turned back from the initial turn unless a yank is used , not expecting it , it can catch you out big time especialy if there isnt alot of room to the right or left for an oversteer ( and i`m not on about sliding when i mention oversteer )
