I wouldn't class the SRi as high spec mate. It's an SXi with a spoiler

my sxi has a spoiler, its a t reg, i ve seen alot of newer sxi's without them though

There's no difference between a 1.8 SXi and a 1.8 SRi. apart from maybe you'll get switchable traction control (my 2.0 SRi has it) but not in all cases. The SRi comes with a spoiler as standard, the SXi doesn't.

I'd class top spec as the GSi, SRi-T and 888.

Can't count the VXr as that is a 'H'

I thought that was just for storing CD's and not actually a changer?

Animal
20-04-2007, 13:45
i thought the same but they have lights on next to the buttons to open the holders and its all wired in at the back and confirmed that when re connected the coax for my radio when took the glove box out

andysri
20-04-2007, 13:49

I will be getting a 1.8 SXI in May on a 05 plate. Must be one of the very last 'G's

Tim.

Animal

Scott

i thought the same but they have lights on next to the buttons to open the holders and its all wired in at the back and confirmed that when re connected the coax for my radio when took the glove box out

*Looks at your signature*

Ive been told before its only storage. Too small to be a changer.

Animal
25-04-2007, 20:15
LOL it could be just a holder just dont know why they put lights on will have to do some digging on the net to find out what it is.

I saw a 55 plate astra G van today...had to look twice

Animal
25-04-2007, 20:33
I think they have stil kept the G shape for the vans havent they havent seen a new van yet only the estates.

andysri
25-04-2007, 21:07
They are just G's that haven't been registered yet. Not 'last of the line or anything'...just cars that have sat on forecourts/show rooms for ages without being bought.

They have 'H' shaped vans.

do you know of a how to about de restricting the air box

andysri

do you know of a how to about de restricting the air box

Don't really need one mate.

I've done it and it's fairly easy. Just remove the airbox and take out the pipes. The only problem I had was that the pipes were firmly wedged in there so I smashed them up with a hammer and picked out the bits

Animal
25-04-2007, 21:28
Ok mate how does removing these pipes help is it just that it allows more air in for the engine to suck at when its needed?

Basically, yes. The more air the engine can get at the more responsive it'll be. Don't do it expecting bhp increases, as it won't happen
